Rae is passionately committed to centering the rights and livelihood of low-income, trans*, queer, and communities of color. For the past 15 years, he has provided operational and program management support for organizations committed to racial, social, and environmental justice. He is happy to be strengthening his HR skills at CEL while managing The Lab co-working space. Prior to landing at CEL, Rae worked for Urban Habitat supporting leadership development in marginalized communities and anti-displacement efforts in the Bay Area. He has a strong background in working for youth-centered organizations and managed an LGBTQI+ youth center for many years. He received his MFA in Creative Writing from California College of the Arts and his Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities from The Evergreen State College. Rae draws inspiration from the intersection of art, healing, and social change.
